Ben Hill County EMS Awarded Trauma Equipment Grant
Ben Hill County Emergency Management Services (EMS) has been awarded an equipment grant from the Georgia Trauma Care Network Commission for trauma-related equipment. The $15,811.86 grant is administered by the Georgia Association of EMS, and is intended for equipment that is directly related to the care of Trauma Patients or for Trauma Care Training.

Ben Hill County EMS Director Mark Shealy said, “We plan to upgrade some of our older trauma equipment and supplies to better serve the community. We also plan to purchase up-to-date trauma training equipment to train in-house on a regular basis.

“This equipment and training is extremely important for our community due to the long distance to the nearest Level 1 Trauma Center; which is located in Macon. Ben Hill County EMS must always be ready to deliver the best possible pre-hospital trauma care available to our citizens. This grant will allow us to do that at the lowest cost possible to our tax payers,” he said. “We will continue to seek out all available grants to help us provide excellent pre-hospital care.”
