Before being elected to office,
Shirley Ely worked in the Magistrate Office for 20 years. She was first
elected to office in 1994 as Chief Magistrate of Ben Hill County. She is a
committee member of the Child Abuse Protocol, member of the Board of Trustees,
Cordele Circuit ADR Program. She attends the annual certification program
through the Institute of Continuing Education, Judicial Education of Georgia.
Ms Ely is a graduate of Coffee
County High School, she has 3 children, Tim Ely, Anthony Ely and Cindy McCauley
and 2 grandchildren Meagan and Wesley McCauley.
