The Building Maintenance Department  provides the following services to Ben Hill County Residents:

• Maintain all county buildings and grounds
• Daily inspection of the quality of county owned wells and water supply
• In code enforcement, this office enforces county ordinances not handled by the Sheriff's Office, i.e. illegal dumping, abandoned or junked cars, old appliances, etc.

• In charge of county building maintenance
• Issues building permits
• Issues business license
• Administer zoning ordinances
• Process zoning & re-zoning applications
• Inspects subdivision applications
